Race Engineer F2

Van Amersfoort Racing is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Race Engineer to strengthen our F2 engineering department.

About the role

As a F2 Race Engineer, you will ensure the performance and reliability of our race cars during F2 events. You will work closely with drivers, engineers, and mechanics to maximize team performance both on and off the track.

Responsibilities

Perform set-up work on our F2 race cars for optimal performance under varying conditions during test sessions.
Implement advanced data collection techniques to continuously analyze and interpret the performance of our test cars to improve performance.
Open communication with drivers to translate their feedback into technical adjustments to improve performance during race weekends, and coach them to improve and optimize their driving.
Work with the engineering team to develop race strategies based on data, weather conditions, and competitive analysis.
Solve technical issues quickly during test sessions and provide quick fixes to ensure the reliability of the test cars.
Work closely with other engineers, mechanics, and technicians to ensure that all aspects of the test cars are functioning optimally.
Stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements in motorsports and implement innovations to improve our test team.

What you bring

A relevant university degree (e.g., mechanical engineering, aerodynamics) with at least 5 years of work experience in a professional motorsport environment.
Single-seater experience is preferred but not essential.
Demonstrate an extensive technical knowledge of race cars and exhibit strong analytical skills.
Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining the highest standards.
Teamplayer mentality with a high sense of responsibility. Strong work ethic and commitment to succeed.
Excellent English communication skills, oral and written.
Work on weekends as well as being flexible to work overtime. Domestic and international travel is expected.
