Van Amersfoort Racing continues with Alex Ruta for 2026 Formula 4 programme
Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) is pleased to continue working with Alex Ruta for the 2026 season. The Polish driver will remain with the team as he competes in the Formula Winter Series, Italian Formula 4 Championship and E4 Championship, continuing his journey together with Van Amersfoort Racing.
Born in Warsaw, Poland, Alex came into karting in his early teens and quickly showed strong progress. Over a short period of time, he established himself in competitive fields, taking a race win in the ROK Junior Series at the ADAC Kart Festival in Kerpen and charging from the back to finish sixth in an IAME Euro Series race. He concluded his time in karting as vice-champion of the 2024 ROK Cup Poland, earning the opportunity to take the next step into car racing.
That step came in 2025, when Alex joined Van Amersfoort Racing for the final round of the Formula Winter Series, marking his first experience in single-seater racing. He continued with the team into the Italian Formula 4 Championship and E4 Championship, where the focus was firmly on learning and building experience across a full season of racing. Over the course of his rookie campaign, Alex showed steady progress and strong commitment, scoring points on multiple occasions and achieving seven rookie podium finishes with the team. He collected 144 rookie points in Italian Formula 4 and finished fifth overall in the E4 rookie standings, an encouraging first year in single-seaters.
Heading into 2026, Alex will build on everything learned so far with a full programme across the Formula Winter Series, Italian Formula 4 and E4 Championships. Together with the team, the focus will be on continuing to grow step by step, gaining confidence and consistency as the season unfolds.
