Jesse Carrasquedo joins Van Amersfoort Racing for 2026 Formula 3 season
Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) is proud to announce its first full-time driver in the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship: Jesse Carrasquedo. The Mexican driver will compete with VAR in 2026, after already competing in four races with the team in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) in 2023. This first full season of F3 together gives the team and Jesse an exciting outlook on 2026.
The Mexican driver’s karting years started when he was five, and made his first international debut in 2016. Gaining Antonio and Sergio Perez as his mentors over the years, his European single seater debut followed in the Danish Formula 4 Championship in 2021, where he got his maiden series win on debut. After a couple of years of driving in the Spanish Formula 4 Championship, he stepped up to the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA), where he had his debut race weekend with VAR. His Eurocup-3 2025 campaign has continued to show his talent, having 2 wins and 3 podiums to his name so far.
In 2024, he tested in Formula 3 with the team in Jerez. We’re very happy to have him back permanently and are grateful for him to drive a full season with us. He will also participate in the Post-Season F3 testing with the team this year. Van Amersfoort Racing looks forward to supporting him with the F3 season ahead. It will be a valuable opportunity to learn and grow for all involved.
Brad Joyce - Team Principal, Van Amersfoort Racing
"We’re proud to have Jesse back with the team and excited to work with him again. His talent and determination have been clear to see, and now that we will work together full-time, we can build on the progress he’s already made. The upcoming post-season F3 testing will help him get more familiar with the car and prepare him to thrive over a full season. Together, we’re aiming for strong results and continued growth in the year ahead.”
Jesse Carrasquedo - Formula 3 driver, Van Amersfoort Racing
“I’m very excited to join VAR for my first full F3 season. They’re a very professional team, and I’ve participated with them before in FRECA, so I’m quite happy with this move. I hope this season will go very well with them.”
The 2026 FIA Formula 3 season consists of 20 races on 10 different race tracks across Europe, Asia and Oceania, supporting FIA Formula 2 and FIA Formula One World Championship. This upcoming year will see Madrid added as a new circuit, making the drivers compete at not one, but two Spanish tracks in 2026. The season will begin on the 6th-8th of March in Melbourne, and close off in Madrid on the 11th-13th of September.
Jesse has an exciting season ahead of him. VAR encourages all partners and fans to follow his progress and learning curve with the team online and on track.
