Ricco Shlaimoun joins Van Amersfoort Racing as FIA Formula 2 Reserve Driver for the 2026 season, becoming an integral part of the team’s F2 programme. Throughout 2026, he will participate in simulator sessions, race weekends, briefings and debriefings alongside the race drivers, following the same preparation structure to gain direct experience at FIA Formula 2 level.
Ricco began his racing career in karting, where he quickly established himself as a front-runner with multiple victories in both Junior TAG and Shifter categories. His early success laid the foundation for a transition into car racing, where he built experience across Formula 4, Formula Regional and GT competition.
In 2024, Ricco completed a full campaign in the Formula Regional Americas Championship, further strengthening his single-seater profile. He expanded his racing programme in 2025 with appearances in GT America Powered by AWS, securing two podium finishes on the streets of Long Beach and continuing to broaden his experience across competitive racing environments.
The 2026 season marks a structured step in his progression, as he integrates into Van Amersfoort Racing’s FIA Formula 2 operation.
