Test Team #1 Mechanic

Test Team #1 Mechanic

About the role

As our Test Team #1 Mechanic, you play a key role in the preparation, performance, and reliability of our test cars. You are not only responsible for the technical condition of the car, but also for leading and supporting the mechanics working around it.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a high-performance motorsport environment and enjoys working across different formula cars. You will work closely with the Team Manager, engineers, drivers, and fellow mechanics to ensure the car is prepared to the highest standard; both in the workshop and at trackside.

You know what it takes to deliver under pressure, stay sharp when timing matters, and keep standards high at all times.

Key responsibilities

Car preparation & performance

  • Ensure all pre-test and post-test checks are completed to the required team standard
  • Prepare the car for each session with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and safety
  • Monitor the condition and readiness of the car throughout test events
  • Coordinate and execute quick repairs when needed to return the car to track safely and efficiently
  • Support the implementation of car setups and mechanical changes as directed by engineers and the Team Manager

Trackside execution

  • Act as the primary mechanic and first point of contact for the car during test events
  • Work closely with engineers and drivers to help resolve technical and mechanical issues
  • Provide clear and accurate mechanical feedback on car performance and reliability
  • Remain calm and effective under pressure, especially during time-critical situations or unexpected failures
  • Support the team in resolving post-session issues and preparing the car for the next run

Team support

  • Lead and coordinate the work of the #2 Mechanic and any support staff assigned to the car
  • Delegate tasks clearly and ensure work is carried out to a consistently high standard
  • Support and mentor junior mechanics where needed, helping maintain strong safety, quality, and working standards
  • Work in close partnership with the Team Manager to keep daily operations smooth and well organised

Workshop

  • Participate in the packing, loading, unloading, and preparation of equipment for test events
  • Keep accurate records of work completed, including parts usage, component lifing, and technical notes
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and kept in good working condition
  • Follow all team procedures, FIA safety regulations, and technical requirements

What you bring

  • Proven hands-on mechanical experience in motorsport
  • Experience in single-seater racing is strongly preferred (such as F2, F3, F4, FREC or similar categories)
  • Strong technical understanding of race car mechanics, including suspension, drivetrain, braking systems, and hydraulics
  • Previous experience working directly with engineers, drivers, and mechanics in a motorsport environment
  • Trackside experience in a professional racing or testing environment
  • Already legally allowed to work in the Netherlands

What is important to know
