
VAR CLOSES FREC SEASON WITH DOUBLE POINTS FINISH IN HOCKENHEIM
The 2026 Formula Regional European Championship concluded at the Hockenheimring, where Van Amersfoort Racing delivered a strong and consistent final weekend, highlighted by a double points finish and another Rookie win for Oleksandr Bondarev.
Making only his second appearance in the series, Oleksandr Bondarev continued his impressive form. In Race 1, the Ukrainian rookie showed solid pace and racecraft, finishing 10th and adding another points result to his growing FREC résumé.
In Race 2, Bondarev once again demonstrated maturity and speed. After a clean start and strong opening laps, he climbed into the top ten and secured P8, earning the Rookie victory for the final race of the season. His performances across Imola and Hockenheim mark an exceptional introduction to Formula Regional.
Dion Gowda delivered one of his strongest weekends of the year. After finishing 16th in Race 1, he made clear progress in Race 2, battling firmly inside the midfield and crossing the line in 7th, adding valuable points to the team’s tally.

Andrea Dupé completed the season with two clean runs, finishing P24 and P19, showing consistency and control throughout the demanding final weekend.
Van Amersfoort Racing concludes the 2026 season 7th in the Teams’ Championship with 70 points. In the Drivers’ standings, Oleksandr Bondarev finishes 14th with 37 points, Dion Gowda takes 20th with 25 points, and Andrea Dupé closes the year 25th with 8 points.

The team now shifts focus to preparations for 2027, carrying momentum from a competitive and encouraging end to the season.
