Fernando Rivera Joins Van Amersfoort Racing for 2027 Formula Winter Series and German F4
Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) is pleased to announce that Fernando Rivera will join the team for the 2027 Formula Winter Series and German Formula 4 Championship. The Mexican driver will make his first move to Europe in single-seater racing with VAR next season.
Fernando began his racing career in karting. In 2025, he finished third in the Senior X30 class of Mexico’s Reto Telmex karting championship. That same year, he made his single-seater debut in the F4 NACAM Championship. He made an immediate impression at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, finishing second and recording the fastest lap at his debut weekend.
In 2026, Fernando continued competing in F4 NACAM while also racing in the F4 U.S. Championship. He claimed his first F4 NACAM victory at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez and currently sits fifth in the championship standings. In the United States, he secured his first podium at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and added a second-place finish at Barber Motorsports Park.
Next season, Fernando will compete in the Formula Winter Series before taking on the German F4 Championship. Both series will mark his first single-seater races in Europe and provide further opportunities to gain experience as he continues his development with Van Amersfoort Racing.
