Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) is pleased to announce that Yevan David will join the team for the 2027 FIA Formula 3 Championship. The Sri Lankan driver will enter his second season in the category after making his FIA Formula 3 debut in 2026.

His single-seater career began in Formula 4 in 2024, before moving into Formula Regional-level machinery and Euroformula Open. That same year, he took two wins and three podiums as a guest driver at Monza in Euroformula Open. He also secured pole position in the FIA Motorsport Games Formula 4 Cup. In 2025, he became Vice Champion in the Euroformula Open Championship, taking six wins, 14 podiums and three pole positions. He also claimed the Rookie title.

The 2026 season saw Yevan become the first Sri Lankan driver to compete in FIA Formula 3. His rookie campaign included his first F3 podium at Silverstone, where he finished second in the Sprint Race. The season gave him valuable experience of the championship and its demands ahead of his second year in the category.

For 2027, Yevan will join VAR for his second FIA Formula 3 season. He will begin working with the team during the official post-season testing in Barcelona, giving him the opportunity to get to know the team ahead of the new year.

Yevan David – FIA Formula 3 driver, Van Amersfoort Racing:
“Stepping into VAR for the 2027 FIA Formula 3 season feels like the right move at the right time. The leadership team has a clear vision, proven experience and a competitive mindset that matches how I want to operate. I’m excited to learn from them, contribute to that culture and test myself against the strongest field in junior single‑seaters. The challenge is big, but so is the opportunity. I’m ready to work, grow and deliver everything I can throughout the 2027 season”

Brad Joyce – Team Principal, Van Amersfoort Racing:
“We’re pleased to welcome Yevan to Van Amersfoort Racing. He showed great potential in his first FIA Formula 3 season, with a strong second-place finish in the Silverstone Sprint Race. Joining the VAR team will give him a new environment for his second year, and our aim is to turn that experience into great results. We’re looking forward to getting to know him and working with him during the post-season test. This will be a good opportunity to prepare for the 2027 season.”

Van Amersfoort Racing looks forward to working with Yevan as preparations for the 2027 FIA Formula 3 season get underway.
