VAR celebrates double podium success during F2 weekend at Silverstone

Round seven of the 2026 FIA Formula 2 Championship took place at the iconic Silverstone Circuit, where Van Amersfoort Racing enjoyed a strong weekend. The highlight came from Rafael, who secured podium finishes in both the Sprint Race and the Feature Race, continuing the teams progress in the championship.

Qualifying provided a strong start to the weekend, with Rafael showing impressive pace throughout the session and securing a competitive starting position. Starting third in Saturday’s Sprint Race, he fought at the front from the opening laps and maintained consistent pace under pressure to bring home a well-deserved third-place finish. The result marked his second consecutive Sprint Race podium and added valuable championship points for Van Amersfoort Racing.

Starting from eighth on the grid in Sunday’s Feature Race, Rafael made another strong start and quickly moved forward through the field. A well-executed strategy from the team, combined with strong and consistent pace, put him in the fight for the podium during the closing stages of the race. Rafael took full advantage of the opportunity, making decisive overtakes to cross the line in second place and secure his second podium of the weekend.
