Zeewolde, Netherlands

Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) will continue working with Pedro Lima in 2027 as he steps up to the Formula Regional European Championship (FREC). After joining VAR for the 2026 season, the Brazilian driver will take on a new challenge with the team at Formula Regional level.

Pedro joined VAR after a strong 2025 season in the Brazilian Formula 4 Championship, where he took two wins, nine podiums and two pole positions to finish third in the overall standings. He made the move to European racing with VAR in 2026, competing in the Formula Winter Series, Italian Formula 4 Championship and E4 Championship. Throughout the season, he continued to build experience in European competition and made progress as he adapted to a new racing environment.

The move to FREC marks the next step in Pedro’s development with VAR. He will face a new car and a higher level of competition while continuing to work with a team he already knows well. Pedro has been a pleasure to work with throughout the season, both on and off the track, and we’re looking forward to continuing that work in Formula Regional.

Pedro Lima – Formula Regional driver, Van Amersfoort Racing:
"Stepping up to FREC with Van Amersfoort Racing next year is a massive step forward in my career. As the competition sharpens, I’m fully committed to pushing my limits and bringing strong results to the team. It will be a challenging season, but definitely a pivotal one for my journey. Big thanks to VAR and my partners for believing in my potential – let's get to work!"

Brad Joyce – Team Principal, Van Amersfoort Racing:
“We’re pleased to continue working with Pedro as he moves into Formula Regional. After a strong season in Brazilian Formula 4, he made the move to European racing with us this year. We’ve seen him make good progress throughout the season, and we’re looking forward to building on that in FREC. Moving up will be another significant step, but having that continuity with the same team will be a real advantage as he adapts to the new car and championship.”

Van Amersfoort Racing looks forward to continuing its work with Pedro as he takes the next step into Formula Regional in 2027.
